The Annual Mackinac Island Turkey Trot is once again slated for Thanksgiving Day (November 24th) on Mackinac Island at 9:30am.

The FREE race, or rather a fun-run, walk, dog-walk, etc is a non-timed event that takes participants from the corner of Marquette Park to a little past Devils kitchen and then returns to town for the finish line at the World-Famous Mustang Lounge.

Ride the 8:30 AM ferry to Mackinac Island for FREE, by donating 5 non-perishable food items at our dock #2 in St Ignace. Arrive on the island at approx. 9:05 am and enjoy the festivities at the Trot! Your return trip to the mainland will be FREE as well.

As in the past, The Mustang Lounge will be open for beverage service only – with all proceeds donated to the Mackinac County Food Bank.

So, to recap:

  1. Get on the 8:30 Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry Company boat
  2. Do a 5k on Mackinac Island
  3. Have a few libations at the Mustang
  4. Get back on the 12:30 ferry

and by doing so raise funds and food for the less fortunate (with plenty of time to get to Grandma’s for Turkey)!

This is a rain, or shine, or snow event. In the event of blustery winds, the course may be altered.

Hope to see you on Thanksgiving!!
