We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during these uncertain times.  Star Line Mackinac Island Hydro-Jet® Ferry wanted to let you know that we are open for business in at all of our docks, 7 days a week.  Mackinaw City, St Ignace at Dock and Mackinac Island Main Dock #1.

At Star Line, passenger safety is our top priority! During these periods of increased illness, we want to ensure you we will be taking extra precautions. We are following and exceeding the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Guidance – Steps to Prevent Illness.  We are disinfecting all high traffic surfaces and fogging our vessels with hospital grade disinfectant before and after each trip.

FAQs

Are there new cleaning processes in place?
Yes. Housekeeping and maintenance are always top priorities, guests will now notice even more cleaning and sanitizing of our vessels, high touch areas, guest bathrooms, ground transportation vehicles and more.  We are fogging every boat with hospital grade disinfectant before and after every trip.

Are boats cleaned regularly?
Yes. Each boat will be completely sanitized via our hospital grade fogging system before and after each trip. In addition, each boat is thoroughly deep cleaned every evening.

How can passenger be assured of a safe and comfortable experience?
Please mind your space and wear a mask. We ask that guests respect their own personal space and the space of those around them by maintaining adequate space whenever possible. When in lines or while boarding we also ask that guests always wear their masks and keep an appropriate distance from the guests in front of you .

Are masks be required?
Yes. All Star Line employees in high traffic public areas will be required to wear masks.
In addition, all visitors are asked to wear masks while visiting Mackinac Island,
including while underway aboard a Star Line ferry boat.  We have also have masked for sale at cost at every dock.

Is hand sanitizer available for guest use?
Yes. Star Line has installed numerous hand sanitizer stations throughout the operation in
Mackinaw City, St. Ignace, and Mackinac Island.

Will Star Line ferry boats be full?
Star Line is working diligently to assure that departures are below load capacity, offering an even more comfortable Hydro-Jet ride between Mackinaw City, St. Ignace and Mackinac Island.

What is Star Line doing to assure that employees are healthy?
We have dedicated employee monitoring attendants at each of our locations monitoring every employee.  They are taking the temperatures of each employee and checking them for other symptoms at the beginning of every shift.

Is the ground transportation being cleaned regularly?
Yes. Our ground transportation drivers as well as our seasoned maintenance team will be cleaning all high touch areas on vans, shuttles, and trams regularly throughout each day.

Are tram stops also be cleaned regularly?
Yes. Tram stops will be thoroughly disinfected throughout the day.

Will valet be available at either location?
Yes, full valet service is available at all mainland locations.

Have sneeze guards been installed at ticketing and other guest contact areas?
Yes. This includes installation inside our Mackinaw City and St. Ignace office areas.

Does Star Line still accept cash for ticket purchase?
Yes. However, Star Line is encouraging online purchases
and the use of credit cards in person at all ticket windows.

Does Star Line have a COVID-19 preparedness plan for employees?
Yes.

Does Star Line have a COVID-19 Infectious Disease Control Policy and Procedure Plan?
Yes.

Will I be safe while visiting Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry?
Please remember that the risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people gather.  At Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry, we are making constant changes to our operation to provide a safe environment for our passengers.  We also ask that passengers do their part by following the guidelines below when visiting:

  • Should you be displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or known to be COVID-19 positive or should you have been exposed to someone displaying symptoms or someone known to be COVID-19 positive, we ask that you refrain from visiting.
  • Please be sure to wash your hands often throughout the day.
  • Please be respectful of other guests and be mindful not only of your personal space but the space of others, keeping reasonable distance whenever possible.
  • Please note that Mackinac Island requests masks are worn for all guests of Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry.
  • Please avoid touching unnecessary common objects whenever possible.
